Everyday Middle East is an Instagram feed by photographers working in the Middle East and North Africa. By displaying images from our day-to-day lives we hope to work against the stereotypes and visual tropes that are so prevalent about the region in the mainstream media. Our contributors are based all across the Middle East – from Algeria to Yemen and everywhere in between. Learn more about our contributors here.
We are one of the The Everyday Projects, an ever-growing global community of photographers who strive to make images that convey a more accurate view of daily life than what is commonly seen in the media. We are creating new generations of storytellers and audiences that recognize the need for multiple perspectives in portraying the cultures that define us.
